Elephant's foot 07/02/2012
Finding an elephant's foot in central Europe is not as difficult as you may think. What you can see, in fact, is Tinder Fungus which happily grows on tree trunks in a forest nearby my house. Following my belief that you can draw, paint, scribble on almost anything, I collected some of them last autumn. After drying them for three months, they are now ready to experiment with. To make this drawing, I used: gesso, white and green paint, some sanding paper and brushes. Start by preparing the surface. Delicately sand down the mushroom. Be very gentle, these mushrooms after drying can be damaged very easily. After sanding down, brush off any dust. Now, it is time to put a thin layer of gesso. Once gesso is dry, you can apply acrylic paint. I used two types of brushes: a flat one (no.: 6) for larger areas, a round brush (no.: 0) for details. As you can see from the picture, I have plenty to work on. They come in such fantastic shapes and colours! Add Comment | ArchivesCategories |
